Raise Your Credit Score

Many people underestimate the value of diligently tracking their credit score. Without knowing what is on your credit report, you could be turned down for that much needed loan or worse yet, be charged higher interest rates that are not necessary. Raising your credit score is no big secret but know that it will take time and work.

But you must first review your credit report to make sure there are not errors on it. Errors happen and you are the only one who will notice it and the only one who can fix it. Stay away from those companies who claim to be able to fix your credit score for you. Generally, the do very little but charge you a lot.

There really is no need to cut up your cards because a closed account will not help your score.  Just put them away and don’t carry them in your wallet where they are a temptation. Any zero balance on a card will help your score, so don’t think that closing that account will help. Raising your score is well worth the reward of the time and work it takes.
